LOVE this girl!

Ava is our little stinker lately! She likes to do everything "her" way and is getting more and more stubborn by the day. Today she and I went walking in the park and then I let her play on the slide for a few minutes. In all her glory from the top of the slide she yells in her loudest voice over and over (really, really loud), "MOM, I JUST BURPED!" All the while, her new shorts are falling off and she knows she's embarrassing mommy and is laughing hysterically. I quietly leaned over to my mom and said, "it's so humbling to be a parent." She is a handful, but SO much fun!

Fun times in the park with friends!

Today was a lot of fun! We went to our little friend Pearce's b-day party at a great park by the water! The kids had lots of fun playing on the big "ship," looking at the ducks, having snacks, playing with sticks, and watching the trains go flying by! Thanks for a great day friends!

Preschool Graduation...onto Kindergarten!

Jake had an adorable preschool program tonight. They sang all of their songs they learned over the year and followed it with awards and an ice cream social. His teachers are fantastic and have worked so well with him. We couldn't have asked for more structured and nurturing teachers for our little guy...they will be missed! It was amazing how much he has grown this year at school. He LOVES his little friends, his teachers, and just going to school and learning new things. We can't say how thankful we are that we gave him that extra year to get a little bit ahead. He's doing so great and we've seen so much growth! He is a little nervous to go to kindergarten next year with an entirely new environment, but I think he will adjust and love his new friends and teacher. What a blessing you are to all who know you Jake! Congrats on another successful year buddy!

Little Miss Ladybug! Ava's Spring Dance Recital

This year was an exciting year for Ava! It's been so fun to watch her watch her grow and develop into who she wants to be. She LOVES to sing and dance and couldn't wait to start ballet this spring. She asked me every day if I had signed her up until I actually did. She did great and loved her teacher, Miss Heather. I absolutely loved her little lady bug costume but the whole idea of putting "make-up" on my 3 year old took some getting used to (only for the recital!).

My sweet little guy is 6...really?? Six? Where has time gone? I am constantly learning from Jake every day. He is amazingly insightful, kind-hearted, thoughtful, polite, loves his family and God, and the list goes on (I'm not bragging...just amazed at the great little guy he has become).
Daddy's little clone...Eric had to get his Jakey Boy waders just like his!

This year Jake REALLY wanted to have his birthday party at Charl1e's Safar1. It was a fantastic party with lots of his buddies! They all had fun jumping, crawling, sliding, and playing together. Thanks everyone for joining in on the fun!

Very Important Person...that's Jake!

Jake was the very first VIP in his class this year and he did a great job! Mimi, Daddy, Mommy, & Ava all joined him for school and celebrated him and who he is to others. It was such a special day!
He was the class leader and led them through calendar exercises and the Pledge of Allegience.

He (we) made a special poster of some of his greatest pictures and the things and people who are most important to him. He had a lot of fun explaining it to the other students in his class!

All the kids did a cheer for Jake! The V.I.P!

Ava joined in and sang songs with the kids too. You are such a sweet little guy Jakey Boy, and have grown so much in the last year. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!
